OMG! I just took that book back to the library! My thumb is a pin-cushion but the brown bears I made turned out cute and not too much like a miniature cosplay furry.
I had that book and gave it away because it made me angry, so that combo is pretty logical. The one little bunny that I made is still sitting around blind because I didn't want to shell out for the very cute but rather pricey beads to give him eyes.
I think it's a sign that I need help, because I'm sitting here and I can't stop laughing. The big kid even said, "What?" and came over to see what I thought was so funny, but he laughed a little, blushed at the f-word, and then walked off. I'm still giggling.
As a librarian, I can tell you whomever checked you out probably didn't even notice what you got! And, if it was a page, they did - - but your list was WAY not the best they've seen!! ;) Craft on!
Read some of the links to your lot to say today... LOVED this perspective from O!: "Two identical flints lying side by side in the dark are not exactly going to make a spark now, are they?"
Hi! http://www.zuup.com/what-is-zuup here. You have a great blog here. I will keep on visiting your site and be updated with our latest post. Have a great day!!
i can't believe YOU, esteemed blogger, amazing book recommender, FUNNY gal, checked that book out because my father-in-law wrote it! i have read it (it's been awhile though) and i remember something really resonating with me that i often try to go back and find but I can't remember what it was. :O) it was something about the futility in trying to make someone happy who will never be happy. :O) glad it's getting some play time and hope it has something valuable to offer. :o)
I got the felted animals book for my daughter's tenth bday, this dad can't resist sharing some of her creations - they are adorable http://f.cl.ly/items/0Z2r0t2H2Y041J093j2B/Fiona%20turns%2010.jpg
Once again you've made me laugh in recognition. It's been a while since I've commented, so I haven't told you recently that I am so grateful that you're here and that you continue to blog. The post about Ben and the idiot in the bathroom had me seeing red and also left me feeling warm and fuzzy about the great responses. I've got your broccoli salad on my recipe plan for next week. And I just put both "Set" and "Iota" on my wish list -- we love Qwirkle and have also loved pretty much every game you (and/or your commenting fans) have recommended.
This is just a long and meandering way to say "thank you for being you" and please don't ever stop sharing yourself with us!

Ahem. Good choice on the books. Perhaps your polar bear relationship will improve soon.

ReplyDeleteLOVED this perspective from O!:

LOVE upside-down Craney in the photo!
ReplyDeleteCraney, the ultimate Santa Cruz County lifestyle kitty, knows how to keep it all in perspective.
ReplyDeletedidn't get it at first since I read the upper book's title as "Angel Habit" (something like a nun's habit? or just being habitually serene and good?)
