  2. To you as well! Voted with one of 3 children in tow. She was quick to let everyone know that she voted for Obama in her school election and he won- so it's all good. Thank goodness she has it taken care of. And impressive that in a South Carolina Public school Obama won!

  7. Took my 7 year old to the polls after so much around-the-house election talk. I have a feeling he'll remember that experience into his adulthood. (just like I remember my parents going behind the yellow curtain at the church down the street on election day and knowing something BIG and GROWNUP was happening there).

Brewing more coffee now, it may be a long night.

  8. I live in Ohio and proudly voted for Obama today. In fact, I got goose bumps when I checked my ballot. By the way, Catherine I love you and have a total girl crush on you. Hopefully, Obama will win and 2 women that have crushes on each other can legally and rightfully marry. It won't be us as we both have husbands.

    1. Plus you'd really have a lot of other girl crushers to contend with! Haha- Catherine Newman, Bachlorette...

    2. Maybe we should start a Catherine Newman Girl Crush Fan Club?! We could make her a modern day Leif Garrett with a yoni. Or something. Clearly watching these results has done something bad to my brain!

I feel like people on both sides forget the president doesn't have a magic wand to get things done - he has to work with Congress, which can be difficult even when they are the same party. My husband and I got frustrated listening to the debates because many things the candidates said they wanted to do can't be done without action from Congress.

Okay - going out on a limb here. I'm a Catherine Newman fan who voted for..... Mitt Romney! Catherine - I hope we can still be friends. Although, I think I remember you writing about how hard it can be to be friendly to people who have wildly different political views. So, maybe we couldn't be friends in the real world. But, in the world of blogs I can read your stuff, understand where you are coming from (hopefully), and respectfully disagree.

  14. I wore my 2 month old in his carrier, fresh from his checkup and immunizations no less, and stood in line here in Ohio for over an hour. When I selected Obama I got total butterflies and just looked down at that sweet face and hoped. I really can't think of a better way to describe it. Just hope.
