  4. Thank goodness for all your readers with better memories than mine. I will try very hard to think if there is anything else before this magical week of recipes is over and I find myself typing in "Catherine Newman ______" only to be met with a broken link.

Thank you so much from Toronto, especially for the fish with brown butter that I was going to request too!
Was there a lemony chicken pasta with broccoli or am I just convinced that all the good recipes come from you?
Any of your 'gift' recipes would also be welcome ... I think there were flavoured brandy and vinegars to name a few?
Perhaps you'd just like to write a cookbook? Thanks again - Helen

Thank you!! I am going to do a Ben-and-Birdy Dinnerparty. (I am serious about that - it will be mac and cheese, mac and cheese also maybe some cookies)
How about buttermilk biscuits? Or Yeasted Waffles? 5 Minute Bread (I thought it was on here, but now I cant find it) and really all breakfast appropriate freshly baked carbs. :-)

Thank you!!! I found the bread recipe too. Seems like I was really stuck on it starting with the actual number 5, which is why I couldnt find it.
I think I will have buttermilk biscuits for breakfast tomorrow. There is buttermilk in the fridge and not much else.

    2. Am I allowed to make another request? If so, can you post your delicious polenta recipe? Thank you!

    1. Dear NP, I started to post it, and then felt weird because I don't really make it like that anymore. I'm going to post a new polenta recipe soon, where you do the whole thing in the oven. But email me and I'll happily send you the old one! dalaimamablog@yahoo.com xo

  14. Yay yay yay yay!!!! I was flipping out last week because I couldn't find the chile tortilla egg bake and I needed to make it for a teacher breakfast. And then I realized I printed it approximately five zillion years ago and all I had to do was look in my own kitchen! So excited to have all these perfect recipes in one place. Thank you so much!! (Sorry for all the exclamation. I am just way excited.)

  15. Can you puleeze just publish a cookbook that we would buy millions of copies of? Pretty please, we love your recipes!!!

  16. It appears if the most crackety crack recipe you ever wrote is not here? The Salted Caramel Popcorn from Wonderfime? Also Instant Oatmeal and the camping food. I have all of these personally, but would hate for anyone to miss out on cleaning their kitchen sink in order to dump freshly made caramel all over it. (We bought a popcorn bowl. Works just as well without the scrubbing.)

    1. Didn't I write you back already about this? Where I tried to convince you to make the cherry-almond misery bars instead? No?

    2. It is always possible that I am going crazy.

    3. No, I don't think so, unless the email is lost in the Internet ether. And I tried to convert the kiddos to liking the Misery Bars better, but no luck.
Another thought I had was the black bean dip, with the white bean variation?

    4. Okay! I added them. Thank you for being patient. xo

  20. Loving all these links and tabs on the right side. Any chance you might add a tab with links to your posts with favorite books recommendations. More than once I have tried to open the "bad ideas for stuff" under the blog title. :) And when will your next book be out?

Just made your roasted pork with apples and onions last night -- amazing! Even my teenage non-pork eater ate it!

  24. I am shocked I forgot to request your apricot pot roast. I make it for myself every year on my birthday. Still my all time favorite!

    1. Apricot pot roast is here. I'm almost positive. Check the index! I will too. xo

    2. Thanks Catherine! Although I sheepishly admit that if I am feeling lazy about opening a can of tomato paste...or even feeling lazy about committing to a squeezy tube of tomato paste...I just use ketchup. It works and adds a little extra zip and sweetness. That is really kind of 1950's of me, now that I think about it.

  25. Huh. That was weird. I asked for the oatmeal recipe and then after reading it, realized that I make it an entirely different way now! So I pulled out the cookbook (which I rarely do since I have it memorized) and saw that I've entirely crossed out your recipe and wrote my own! Hilarious. I have four kids, so everything is tripled for one thing, and no dates for another, and the whole thing is by weight because it's just so much easier (I dump directly into the blender while it is sitting on a scale). But... thanks for being the first person to tell me that you can make instant oatmeal this way! You've saved me thousands of dollars I'm sure.

  26. Oh, no--your Pork So Good It Could Make You Cry recipe has disappeared. Please reappear it sometime in the cold months so we can enjoy again! Thank you!!!
